When you are ready to tackle your home organization projects, eventually some type of storage containers or bins are going to come into play.  Once you get your belongings down to what you want and need, then you should store them together so they have a permanent home.  And when you can place a label on the outside-then even better!

When you are thinking about what to buy, or standing there in the store shopping for organizing bins, take your own habits into consideration.  For example, my daughter really needs a better system for storing her make-up and she has given me the ‘authority’ to make the purchase for her.  Well, that certainly excites me-I already have a plan to go to Storables!  But, it hit me that I could bring something home that won’t be effective for her.  So, I asked her if she wanted a bin that she would just throw everything in together and then dig for what she needed, or a storage bin with lots of compartments to store everything separately.  Well, she just wants to be able to throw everything in together.  Now, if I would have bought one with lots of compartments, the chances are she wouldn’t have stuck with it because it was too much work.  Bottom line, her make-up will have a home, she will know where it is and the bathroom counter will stay clean-hopefully!
