Create an Office Clean-Up Day

Take a little bit of time every week, even just 15 minutes, to tidy up your office so you get off to a  fresh start on Monday.  Since I have a home office, I find that Sunday evenings work really well for me.  If you are working in a business office, consider taking the last 15 minutes of your day on Friday to straighten up.  Now this isn’t about a big ‘clear the clutter and reorganize session,’ this is just a little cleaning tune-up that doesn’t require a lot of brain power.

First critical step:  Put on some good music.

Other quick and easy tasks:

  • Dust
  • Empty garbage & recycle
  • Water plants
  • Vacuum
  • Wipe down computer screen
  • Clean keyboard
  • Shred papers
  • Lay out projects to work on during the week
  • Delete e-mails
  • Look over schedule for the week

Final critical step:  Treat yourself to some chocolate-never hurts!

Take a little time each week to clean up  a bit and feel in control when Monday rolls around!
