Creating My Oasis in an Organized Home

October 17th, 2010 Bathroom Organizing

Do I have an organized home?  Of course I do!  Do I have a perfect home?  Of course I don’t!  No one is perfect and there is no need to be. The older I get the more I believe it.  But there are always things I want to do to improve my home, small scale projects such as adding valances to my family room windows to larger scale projects like installing new carpet and exterior paint.  But for now, my goal has been to create a nice space to relax without breaking the bank.  I love relaxing in the tub so I started there. I was getting tired of the color on my bathroom walls and lack of decor; I had the same boring picture hanging up that has been around for about 15 years.  It turns out, that once I started sprucing up my bathroom, I fell in love with the color all over again.  So, here’s a photo collection of the changes I made.

I got tired of seeing all of my beauty products through the glass shower doors.

So, I bought a curtain-problem solved.

I updated my wall art for about $25 and found a wall unit at Ikea for about $30 so I could bring my towels into the bathroom instead of going out to the hall closet each time I needed one.

cimg18521Not only do I want to have an organized home, but I want to have a home where I can relax and take care of myself each day.  I didn’t make big, expensive changes to enjoy my space and, happily, I don’t even need new paint now that I like my old paint color again!

  1. Great ideas for the bathroom! I have a wicker basket near the tub for all my bath stuff. The only problem is that I am not using any of it.

It’s time, again, to de-clutter the bathroom!

  2. Good work on having the basket as a gathering spot, now you can get it down to what you know you want to keep! :)
