We all love it when someone helps us celebrate our special occasions with a “happy birthday,” a card or maybe even a gift! Chocolate is always a good choice! Remember though, it goes both ways, the people we care about love to receive the same in return.
Don’t be the person always hitting the belated birthday card section in the card shop. Make other people feel great by being prepared and on-time with your gift giving to them.
At the end of each month look at your calendar and see who has a special occasion coming up the next month. Make a list of names and head to the store to buy all the cards at one time. If you want to buy personalized gifts this is the time to do it as well. While you are at the store, pick up a few generic cards to have on hand. I always have extra birthday and sympathy cards at home.
If you need to mail any of the cards or gifts, be sure to place a reminder on your calendar to mail them several days before their special day.
It’s always a great idea to have a couple of generic gifts on hand at home for a birthday that catches you by surprise like a neighbor or co-worker’s birthday that might not actually be in your planner. Pick up something simple like coffee or ice cream gift cards for “a treat on me” that you can easily add to the card and go.
It’s not about a fancy or expensive gift, it’s about thinking of someone and acknowledging their special day-on time!
