Home Organization and the Happy Homemaker’s Sock Dilemma

Once upon a time, there was a happy homemaker who was no longer very happy. She worked and worked to create home organization systems that would create peace and harmony for all those who lived in her home. She used baskets and labels, she used colorful file folders, sturdy file baskets and snazzy label makers too. She was doing great, she was feeling good, she could find anything she needed and then without warning the complaining began.. “Mom, I don’t have any matching socks,” “Mom, where are all my socks?” “Mom, have you done the laundry, I can’t find my socks.” At first she felt puzzled. Then she felt frustrated. And then she looked into the laundry basket and gasped, only one sock out of every pair… How could this be, what went wrong and WHERE are the socks?? Her organizing instincts were forced to kick into high gear, she knew there had to be a better way. How could this homemaker be happy once again?

She pounded the pavement, she asked her friends, she took to the internet and that’s where she found it: The Sock Sack

Brilliant! Every family member could have their own color coded bag-marvelous! Dirty socks could go in, zip up the bag, throw it in the washing machine and like magic, they would come out not only clean, but as a pair. Two clean, matching socks-fabulous!

The homemaker sighed with relief for tackling this home organization hurdle and coming out successful and she lived happily ever after!
