I was able to experience a perfect example of why it pays to get organized the other day!  I pulled into my garage and realized my headlight was out in my car, the thought of spending money to get it fixed really didn’t thrill me.  Suddenly I remembered that I had actually already had a headlight replacement a while back.

My file cabinet holds a hanging file folder for “Vehicles” and inside are two manilla folders-labeled for each car.  I quickly had my hands on the  invoice for the repair and found that I had indeed already had the same bulb replaced.

Today I popped back into my favorite automotive repair shop with invoice in hand and they were great about replacing it on the spot free of charge.  So, having my paperwork easily accessible helped me get a free repair and a reminder about why it’s so important for all of us to get organized!
