No Is A Full Sentence
It’s so easy to get overloaded in our daily lives. There’s so much to do-work, family activities, school events, taking care of our homes, volunteering and dare I say making time for ourselves? It’s easy to take on too much leaving us feeling stressed and overwhelmed.
Be sure to really think about what your goals are in life and how you will spend your time. For example, if it’s important to you to take care of your health through exercise, then you need to sit down and mark off time in your day to commit to an exercise program. Don’t just leave it up to chance that you can fit it in. When something is scheduled, it allows you to know what time you have available if someone makes a request for you time.
Never feel obligated to say yes just because someone has asked you to do something. My rule of thumb when someone asks me to do something is, “Am I saying yes because I want to or because I feel obligated?” If it is out of obligation then usually it’s a sign to say no.
Remember, “No” is a complete sentence. You don’t have to provide an explanation on how you are spending your time. Put your energy and time toward the goals and activities that are important to you!
