Stay on Top of Home Organization-No More Maybe Baby!

Recently I had my own “Maybe” that I had to kick to the curb. What was it? A crock pot. I dropped the insert, which was so thick and sharp when it broke, I was lucky it didn’t scratch my kitchen floor. But I digress. So, I looked at the nice, glass lid and thought, “Maybe, I should keep this in case it happens to fit on the next crock pot that I buy. That way, if I break the next lid, then I’ll have an extra!”

Hmmmm, it happens to the best of us, the “maybes.” But maybes won’t help you stay on top of your home organization projects. Maybes will keep you swimming in clutter. Maybes may come in these clever disguises:

Maybe I will use that again “someday.” “Someday is a trap too-do not get seduced and fall for “someday.”
Maybe my kids will want that.
Maybe that’s worth something, maybe I can make a lot of money. Probably not, but if so, then sell it.
Maybe I’ll fix that ‘someday.” Oh that ‘someday’ is a sneaky devil.
Maybe we’ll have a garage sale. Oh snap-”someday!”
Maybe I will fit into that again. Oh I’m embarrassed to say it now-”someday.”
Maybe I’ll get that car running again.
Maybe we’ll run out of all the beauty products we like to use and we’ll have to use this.
Maybe one will break and we’ll need these extras.
Maybe the gift giver will ask me if I still have this.
Maybe I will miss it if it’s gone.
Maybe I will regret getting rid of it.
Maybe I will need this, oh you know what’s coming now: “someday.”

No more “maybe” baby! And kick out seductive “someday” too; you don’t need those guys!

But really, don’t keep things because of a maybe or a someday, keep the things in your home that you love or that you at least like and that you are truly using. Keep space open for new things that may come into your life. It really is OK to just have open space too-breathing room is awesome!
