The garage often ends up being the place where everything you don’t know what to do with ends up being stored. Unfortunately, it can turn into the garage monster where you really don’t know what you have anymore and the car sits out in the driveway exposed to the elements and maybe even vandalism.
It’s important to really be honest about what you are storing in your garage and why. If you don’t even know what’s in those boxes out there, chances are good you can live without it. Take advantage of a sunny day and empty out the garage. Be ruthless about separating into donation, recycle, garbage and giveaway.
Take advantage of all storage space for the items that you do keep, including the ceiling. I personally have two Hyloft storage systems hanging from my garage ceiling. They are great for items that you don’t need to access regularly such as holiday decor.
