I was just down in the kitchen frosting cupcakes mulling over what to say about why I organize my home. I was weighing out the practical and the emotional reasons and realized I kept leaning toward the emotions I experience when I have an organized home. So, I decided to create Part 1-Emotions and Part 2-Practical!
First, let me start with a little story about myself. The other day my mom told me that when I was a few years old she took me into someone’s home we didn’t really know. While visiting (and to her embarrassment) she discovered that I was over folding their laundry. So, I would have to say that a major reason I have an organized home is that it really did come naturally at a very young age.
But now let me tell you how I feel when I am organized:
- I feel lighter-I LOVE to go around the house and weed through things we aren’t using and put them in the donation bag. I love creating empty space.
- I feel calmer. Walking into chaos in my own home is very stressful for me.
- I feel in control. Chaos and clutter in my home feels out-of-control to me.
- I feel like I can concentrate and focus. Being organized makes me feel less distracted.
- I feel more balanced.
I imagine I could come up with a few more, but I think I our tagline will wrap up this entry just fine. Get organized, breathe easy, be happy! That’s me!
